Green Pea Paratha

These parathas are made from raw green peas we get from the vegetable market. Green peas contain folic acid and vitamin A, C, and K, a must for good health. These parathas are a tasty way to include green peas in our diet.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup green peas
  2. 1 tsp. cumin  powder (jeera powder)
  3. 1 tsp. coriander powder (dhaniya powder)
  4. 1/2 tsp asafoetida powder (hing powder)
  5. 1 tbsp. green chilli paste
  6. 1 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste
  7. 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
  8. 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  9. 11/2 cup wheat flour 
  10. 100 gm butter
  11. 1 tsp. sugar 
  12. 1 tbsp. oil
  13. salt to taste 

Method

For the filling

  1. Grind peas in a mixer-grinder. Do it half a way; avoid making a paste out of it.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is heated, add asafoetida, ginger-garlic paste  and green chilli paste.
  3. When it is done add the peas and coriander  to it.
  4. Cook until the moisture dries up.
  5. Now add lemon juice, sugar and salt to it.Mix well.  Your stuffing is ready.

For dough

  1. Now for the dough take wheat flour, add oil and a bit of salt to it.
  2. Kneed the dough using water and let it set for about 10 min.
  3. Our dough is done.

For the parathas

  1. Take a small ball of dough and make a puri kind of from it.
  2. Put about 2-3 tbsp. filling and wrap the puri around the stuffing.
  3. Now make the parathas.
  4. Roast properly and then then spread butter evenly on both the sides.
  5. Take off the flame.
  6. You can make some 6-7 parathas.

Your parathas are now ready!!
Serve with chutney or pickle of your choice. :)

Prasad

We make this Prasad specially for Kadhai on Nagpanchami or for pujas like Satyanarayan or so...

It is very easy to make and it tastes delicious!!

Ingredients  


  1. 1 cup semolina(rawa)
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup ghee(clarified butter)
  4. 1 1/2 cup milk(whole)
  5. 1 banana(ripe)
  6. 1/4 tsp cardamon powder
  7. a few strands of saffron
  8. dry-fruits (cashew, raisins, almonds)

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan.
  2. When the ghee is heated, add semolina to it. Cook in ghee on a medium flame until red.
  3. While semolina is getting cooked, smash the banana in a bowl and keep it aside.
  4. Mix saffron in water in a small bowl.
  5. Now add milk, saffron and smashed banana to semolina 
  6. Cook a bit then add sugar to it.
  7. Now cook it well.
  8. After it is cooked well add cardamon powder and some dry-fruits.
  9. Now our prasad is ready. Garnish it with dry-fruits and serve hot.
